Goals
Educational idea
The educational idea behind the participation of young people in the "Nomadic Island" project is based on the sharing of tasks and responsibilities linked on the one hand to the realization of the artists' projects, and on the other to the logistical operation of the residency.
The goal is to enrich young people with an extraordinary and empowering experience.
The participation of young people in the realization of artistic projects / works, designed by the selected artists, provides for daily meetings between young people and artists. They will explain the relationship between the idea of their project and the theme of the residency (“alternative ways of living and working”), while allowing young people to express their ideas and comments.
As part of the process of carrying out projects / works, artists will leave questions open. These questions will be addressed and discussed with the young people, with the aim of including and integrating the answers suggested by the young people themselves.
Each day, the artists, together with the young people, will take stock of the development of the project.
The realization of artistic projects will be done by identifying and distributing the different tasks. Depending on whether they are projects in the field of plastic arts or in that of performative art, the young people will participate in the realization of the works according to the modalities decided during the exchanges with the artist (project on drawing, reflection on the location of the work, identification of construction materials, reflection on the dramaturgy of the work, practical realization of the work).
Besides the work with the artists, the young people will also participate in the daily tasks for the good logistic functioning of the camp. The young people take turns helping the cooks to prepare food for the residents of the camp. They will help prepare tables for meals and cleaning sanitary facilities. All these tasks will be organized on a rotating basis involving all residents of the camp, adults, young people and artists.
The young people will also participate in all the activities planned for the external public (conferences, lunch-talks, workshops, opening and closing parties) as well as their organization (preparation of the space for the conferences, reception of the public in opening hours of the camp, reception of lecturers).
- empowering the young participants
- offer young people the opportunity for an extraordinary experience alongside a group of professional artists
- make young people aware of socially, environmentally, economically and culturally responsible and sustainable behaviors
- make young people aware of cooperation work

Le volet pédagogique du projet Nomadic Island. |
