Nomadic Island has brought people of different age, profession social and cultural background together. For three weeks they shared time and space in a wonderful location at the threshold between wild nature and industrial landscape and were able to be creative in a collaborative way. It has been a great experience for all participants. We learned a lot from one another, had fun together, talked about a better future. Such an integrative project allowed the coexistence of different levels of human concern: sustainable development, social inclusion, empowerment of youngsters, artistic creation, self-management, autonomous living together, collaborative working.
 We are happy to have embarked on this adventure and happy to have had the possibility to offer this amazing experience to a great group of people.
We are convinced that such a project improves consciousness about living together in a more sustainable way and offers a unique experience where exchanging and sharing is the base to build a better existence on our planet.

Esch-Sur-Alzette: European Capital of Culture

The Nomadic Island project was part of Esch2022. Together with 10 Pro-Sud municipalities, and 8 municipalities in France, in the Haut Val de l’Alzette (CCPHVA), Esch-sur-Alzette - Luxembourg’s second largest city - was European Capital of Culture in 2022.

Under the slogan Remix Culture and its four sub-sections Remix Art, Remix Europe, Remix Nature and Remix Yourself, Esch2022 aimed to create synergies, guarantee sustainable development and, most importantly, ensure that the general public gets actively involved.
